Torah Umesorah was established by Mr. Shraga Feivel Mendlowitz Z"L the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshiva Torah Vodaas as an alternative method of educating Jewish children. He envisioned a Cheder that provided both a hebrew and english education under one roof. He wanted to aviod sending children to public school.
